To improve efficiency, accuracy, and efficiency when soliciting Electronic Manufacturing Service quotations or proposals it’s best to consider the following and include as much of the following as possible.

• Bill of Materials inaccuracies or to ensure complete provide all approved vendor information, and consider allowing prospective CMs to examine your data, or prototype, prior to release for quotation.
• Review and verify component life-cycle status to proactively avoid obsolete or EOL issues.
• Include in your RFQ proposal, product or systems test specifications.
• Updated assembly and fabrication specifications/requirements.
• Manufacturing process instructions and known throughput, yield, or process concerns
• Define tooling requirements.
• Product handling, labeling, & packaging requirements.
• Define any country or export/import requirements.
